I’m not a fan of sausage. The only way I’ll eat bulk sausage is in gravy over biscuits! But I did grow up eating kielbasa sausage with potatoes and carrots with cheese. When I came across this recipe I thought that it would be good. And it was. Except the husband doesn’t like cabbage. And ate just the sausage. I ate just the veggies. The wonder of marriage. Anyhoo-this was really good and even though I won’t serve again!
Chunky Sausage and Potato Supper
1 lb. keilbasa
6 small new potatoes, unpeeled, quartered
1 small onion, cut into 8 wedges
14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes undrained
dash of pepper
1/2 medium heat of cabbage, cut into 6 wedges
In large skillet, combine all ingredients except cabbage; mix well. Arrange cabbage wedges over top. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and cook 15-20 minutes or until veggies are tender. Spoon sauce from skillet over cabbage wedges before serving.
I needed to add water to this as there just wasn’t enough juice.
